Seeking an independent and experienced Group Disability Underwriter for
our Portland, ME office. Accountable for evaluating risk on new issue
proposals and/or in- force case activity in the Mid and National account
markets that include clients with more than 1000 employees. Works
closely with sales staff, brokers and clients to negotiate rates and
discuss financial results. May also participate in periodic process and
technical teams designed to improve efficiency, service and
profitability. Assists Manager in planning, setting and meeting the
goals of the team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
We're looking for an individual who will make a
difference in our organization and possesses the following
qualifications:
- 5+ years Group Disability Underwriting experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Excellent risk evaluation and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to work independently
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
